- Offline tills
- A club's connection drops exactly when it's busiest. The registers keep working without it, and venues get SIM connectivity as a backup.
- Privacy by design
- Servers in the EU, a published GDPR data processing agreement, and end-to-end encryption with a key derived from the venue's code: archived event data can't be read, not even by PartyUp.
- Built for staff on a busy night
- Bartenders and door staff change often, so the interface has to be learned in five minutes, not in a training day.
- No commission
- Venues pay a subscription based on tills and features, and keep all of their sales.
I founded PartyUp and I design and build it, from the interface to what goes live. I do it outside my full-time job at Geckosoft, and it has never taken time away from it. Running it also taught me the side of the job that code doesn't cover: how a startup works, how to price and sell a B2B product, and how venture capital and fundraising work.
